Are you pining for a chance to get a good workout in while you’re stuck at home, but the gym is closed? Whether you’re a spring sport athlete that’s missing out on your season or just trying to stay motivated, here are some great at home workout YouTube channels you can do anytime. For the past couple of days, myself and a few friends have tried some of these out while over FaceTime and it’s been great to reconnect and also set some goals together for the next couple of weeks, so I highly recommend trying some of these with a few friends if you want to get moving!
1. Chloe Ting
Chloe Ting is a fitness YouTuber who, besides posting different kinds of workouts, also posts about nutritional meals and foods that she eats to stay in shape. I would say if you’re looking for a great way to start working out, I would go to Chloe Ting because she has varied types of workouts for every kind of person. She also has many challenges that are 2 weeks long, like her 2 week Ab Challenge. My friends and I are trying that one out and although it’s difficult, if you want to set goals to stay motivated that is the perfect way to do so!
2. Blogilates
Like Chloe Ting, Blogilates also posts lots of workouts along with healthy meals and food videos. Most of her workouts, however, are more pilates based. If you’d like to try pilates, her videos are probably the best for it. She also does challenges like Chloe Ting, but rather than putting the challenges into one video, she makes a separate video for each day which can bring some variety if you try out a challenge of hers. Some of her videos are very unique and different from your average challenge or single workout, so if you want something a little different, I would check her out!
3. MadFit
If you’re looking for a more challenging workout, I would definitely try some of MadFit. I’ve found her workouts to be a bit more difficult than Chloe Ting’s or Blogilate’s, but when you’re stuck at home, why not challenge yourself? Although in some of her workouts she uses equipment, there are lots of hers where she specifies it will not need any equipment in the title. She also does workouts to different popular songs, like Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and Doja Cat’s “Say So”. In addition, she has great yoga/stretching videos for when you wake up, before you go to sleep, or after a workout.
All of these channels have specified workouts that have no equipment, so you just want to get moving without any, you can! If you have some kind of yoga mat, I would recommend using that, but you can still do the workout without one. There are also different ones labeled with beginners so if you’re just looking for something to start out with, you have lots of options. Along with these, there are many challenges to songs, like the Sally Challenge with the song “Flowers” by Moby. You can do this with squats, pushups, abs, or wall sits.
All in all, if you’re looking for some way to move and break a sweat during this sort of “break”, these are great ways to. You can also use their challenges to set goals for yourself to help keep motivated, and prevent getting bored. Like I said before, this is a good way for you and your friends to do something together while still staying socially distant, if you do it together over FaceTime or Google Hangouts.
