If you have ever had a swim class at Littleton or been in our pool, you’ve probably noticed banners hung up on the wall with the names of star swimmers at LHS. Among those names is sophomore Scout Hawkins.

Scout has swum for Littleton for her two years so far, but only this year has she actually gone to school here. Last year, Scout took online school, but this year she decided to come to Littleton.

“My other option was Heritage and I knew a lot of people there and not a lot of people at Littleton, and I wanted a fresh start, so that’s why I chose Littleton,”

Scout mentions her favorite part of being at Littleton.

“My favorite part, I would say, are my teachers. I really like the teachers in my classes,”

In her swimming career, Scout has accomplished many things. Outside of school, she swims for the Denver Hilltoppers. She typically swims and excels in the 100 breaststroke.

“I have one record from last year which I still have not broken again yet. This year not much has happened yet but we’re getting closer to state so I hope something will happen by then,” Hawkins said.

She also touches on the culture of the swim team at LHS.

“It’s really loving and they include everyone and it doesn’t feel like anyone is the odd one out,”

Scout encourages anyone who wants to swim to join the swim team and become a Lady Lionfish!

Scout is one of the many students at Littleton who has had to learn to juggle their life between academics and sports. Being a student-athlete can get difficult at times, which is why it is important that we recognize all of the talented student-athletes at Littleton.
