On Saturday, November 2nd, Southglenn Artworks hosted student art profiles from both Littleton and Arapahoe High School. Our very own Char Fraietta was featured along with previous newspaper staff member Anya Flores-McDowell.
This event was an open house with both artists and guests which stopped by to view the pieces and talk to the two students. There will be two pieces remaining for the rest of November, one from each artist.
“Every month LHS picks two students to have their work featured here, and there is also Arapahoe in the back, and last month was Heritage,” states Fraietta.
When asked how the students were invited, Flores-McDowell responded, “We both got invited by our IB studio teacher, Ms. Jeannelle. We brought all our pieces and we had to frame them all. We got to mingle around for thirty minutes with everyone we invited and we got recognized by a Streets of Southglenn person.”
When asked about the pieces which would be displayed for the month each Fraietta and Flores-McDowell both had their pick. Fraietta’s piece inspired by “The Hobbit” is going to be featured and Flores-McDowell’s piece titled “Unlovely” will also be.
Both of the featured students received $50 gift cards to a craft store, and were also told that they were both going to be invited back on a future day.
