Super Bowl LXI halftime show: one to remember

Superbowl fifty-six is over. And with it goes the long awaited half time show. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much excitement for a half time show in my entire life. All the artists that were featured in the show were rappers, and I am not familiar with rap music. The five different artists put together a show that combined their unique talents.

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre started the show off with a bang. The dance moves and the lyrics had the crowd hooked from the start. The two of them paved the way for Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar. The five of them put on a show that everybody thinks is the best half time show ever.

I’ve learned this wasn’t just a show for the five artists. It was seen by millions of people across the country as taking a stand towards having hip hop music become more prominent in a stage like the Super Bowl. This is the first halftime show that has featured hip hop artists since the 90s. So the show was a big moment for the artists. Hip hop performers haven’t been featured in the Super Bowl halftime show since the style of music was most popular over a decade ago.

The set had a whole story in itself. The floor that everybody was dancing on was a map of the streets of LA. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg are both from LA so the set was an homage to their home town. The building were replicas of staples in the community.

Judging from the online attention, this will be a Super Bowl halftime show to remember.
