The Acting Study 2/Theaco class is putting on “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon!” by Donn Zolidas, directed by Senior Ben Davis. The shows are on April 11th and 12th at 7PM. Tickets are available on the LHS Performing Arts website, and are $5 per student and $8 for general admission.
The story follows two narrators, Sarah Reichlin and Cal Timmers, who try to recreate all original versions of the 209 Grimm fairy tales. Not only do they attempt to recreate all of them, but they combine them all into one play.
The show starts with a brief introduction of the Brothers Grimm. The fairy tales in it are connected in some way or another, following a train of events. Many characters are introduced to the story as time goes on.
While this show is incredibly funny and chaotic, it also involves a large amount of audience participation. Make sure to participate in the fun ways the show provides!
There are many fairy tales featured in the show, ranging from Hansel and Gretel, played by Christian Tieberg and Melina Ramos, to the lesser known Lean Lisa, played by Vivi Kosanovich. Each fairytale is similar to the ones we know and love today, except more detailed and told in the original versions. You might be surprised to find out what actually happened to Cinderella and her stepsisters, so watch the show to find out!
Every single actor, designer, technician and everyone else involved did a great job putting on this intricate show. I very much enjoyed the show and think everyone should stop by on the 11th and/or 12th at 7pm!!
