This year the theatre program has created a plethora of shows and other performances for our entertainment. This week the Outsiders will be performed on Thursday, October 7th at 7:00 pm, on Friday the 8th at 7:00 pm, and Saturday the 9th at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Tickets stop being sold online an hour before the show starts so make sure to get your tickets when you can.

Unfortunately, there will be no understudy show for this production, Friday and the weekend are your only chances to see the show. As always, tickets will sell out quickly. DO NOT wait till the last minute to buy tickets for the “Outsiders” otherwise, you will miss your chance to get a seat. “The Outsiders is essentially about social classes and economic division and how these two different worlds collide,” said Thespian vice president and actor Alicia Chavez.

The leads in this play are Cody Jacobs playing Pony Boy; Tristan Mills playing Johnny; Charlie Craver playing Dallas; Beca Strong playing Sandy; Bella Houck playing Cherry Valance; Quinn Cameron playing SodaPop; Grant Kinzie playing Two Bit; Brynn Kilcoyne playing Marcia and Nathan Rushmore playing Darry.

Cast List for the “Outsiders”

Other than the Outsiders, the next upcoming show will be the “Spooktacular” at the end of the month on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th.

“Spooktacular is a night show, the first act is a showcase of horror short-films that students produced. The second act will be performed by the Theatre Company and is a horror one-act. Lastly, we will be doing a costume contest to help promote the show, students get a discount if they show up in costume,” Said Chavez.

The other large production this year is the musical “Into the Woods”, which will feature on March 3rd and 5th.

“The audition process will start at the beginning of November because the cast needs to be large, we typically don’t start auditions until early December,” said Chavez.

“Into the Woods” will be one of the larger musicals at Littleton High School because the production needs a large cast to include all the action-packed theatrics and technological elements of the play.

“This show has a ton of leads and big parts in it, we’re actually starting a month early in our production process because the music is very complicated,” said Chavez.

The theatre program has more up its sleeve this year than the annual plays and musicals, in fact over the summer they created a student-written short film called “Group-A”. “Group A” was written by seniors Ella Wheeler and Grant Kinzie and is set in a pandemic.

“The film centers around two friends who are chosen to play a game to win money and how they navigate the events that follow,” said Chavez.

The production of this film took place over the summer and was filmed in the home of Cody and Sophie Jacobs, and according to Alicia Chavez certain scenes were staged to look like the actors were on a zoom call.

“I don’t know if this film is getting fully released, but the other short films we’ve created are being produced and viewed at the end of the month,” said Chavez.
