Unsolved Mysteries is a Netflix series that brings light to missing person cases and other unexplained mysteries that remain unsolved. Its second season was just released with six episodes.

Episode descriptions in season 2.

Every episode of the series follows a new case or mystery with a new set of people involved. The episodes follow the families and friends of the missing or deceased person(s) who give their recollection of what occurred leading up to and during the investigation. Interviews of the families take up most of the episodes and their accounts are acted out to tell the story. These are typically emotional but they all collectively share a hope for justice or to be reunited. A couple of the episodes take a different approach by telling a paranormal mystery like possible experience with spirits and UFOs. Rather than accounts of the same story, these episodes offer a lot of different experiences relating to the same idea.

Evidence of the case, such as video footage and witness accounts, are given throughout the episodes. This allows viewers to develop a view of what they believe happened in the mystery. Different beliefs of what happened from those around the case, including from detectives, are offered.

When watching the show, sometimes I felt like the case had enough evidence to be solved but other times there are a lot of explanations to explain the mystery. As much detail as possible is given in less than an hour and I’ve always found myself further researching the cases to see if I can learn more.

Most of the cases aren’t well known on a national level so even people with a lot of interest in mysteries will learn something new.  My favorite part about the show is the large variety of cases included, making every episode a stand-alone experience. It’s one of the most interesting shows I’ve watched in a while and I think most people will enjoy what the show has to offer. If you have about 45 minutes to spare, I would highly recommend watching an episode.
