After a heated discussion in a Lion’s Roar Now staff meeting, I’ve decided to determine once and for all: Who played Spider-Man best?
Each staff member made comments about the performances of each actor. Their comments are as follows:
Tobey Maguire
Growing up on the first three Spiderman movies, Tobey’s spiderman seems to depict a funny yet serious side of Spiderman that always seemed fitting to me. His goofy and nerdy presentation of Peter Parker felt so fitting for the transition into the character of Spiderman. There is also a strong sense of nostalgia for me personally, and I can’t help but feel entertained every single time I watch the original 3 movies
I like his eyes. He looks like Steve Buscemi and I find that endearing. Also, I think he just looks like some guy. Like, he looks so average. I think he plays the character of Peter Parker so well, but he’s not my favorite Spiderman. He feels like a believable superhero. Like, if he were revealed to be Spiderman in front of me, I’d be like “That guy? Really?” because of how average he seems. Also, he just has this fatherly energy, but I think that might be more of a personal thing.
I think that Tobey Maguire is the best Peter Parker-awkward, weird, sort of not confident until he turns into Spiderman.
Tom Holland
Tom being introduced into the MCU as spider-man was awesome. Tom’s spider man was more like the friendly neighborhood spider-man that fans wanted to see. He was more humorous and awesome than the other spider-mans! The jokes were better and I think he was the best cause he had more awesome suits than all of them!
I like Tom Holland’s Spider-Man because he’s the perfect age for Peter Parker and I really like the dynamic between him and Tony Stark-he’s definitely more of an innocent Spiderman and I really like how his story is more coming-of-age than the other two.
I agree with the suit comment but I also think that interacting with the rest of the cast of the Marvel Universe, Tom Holland did a great job of facing that in his own original way (since it was something neither of his predecessors has done). Holland’s version of ‘your friendly neighborhood spider man’ worked better in unison with his Peter Parker character.
I think Tom Holland’s movies have better plots and more compelling villains, helping make Tom the best spider-man because he was able to act in a better story. He was the best Peter Parker because he had the right balance of awkward cuteness.
His personality as Peter Parker is the best.
Andrew Garfield
I like Andrew Garfield is the best Spider-Man his acting is the best
Andrew Garfield has the best hair. It’s literally so good, like it looks like he got hair transplants or something. He’s such a wacky dude. He’s very expressive, I genuinely really like his chemistry with Emma Stone. I don’t think he’s really who I picture when I think about Peter Parker, but he really sells it. To me, he’s the best actor out of all the three.
Andrew Garfield is a really good Spiderman and I think that him and Emma Stone have the best chemistry between all the Spidermans.
He is the hottest spiderman. He is funny and has a great personality while also remaining a superhero. Coolest villains too.
My personal thoughts are: As I can see, Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man actor ver! Plus he was the only spider man to ever meet the Avengers, which made the Marvel Studios even better. He was also dealing with being a student while trying to be a hero. He also had a variety of suits over the movie instead of just wearing the same one. He was good at acting as Peter Parker. His story was also more dramatic and more thrilling. If anything the character and actor were both age-appropriate.
